DREAL Nouvelle-Aquitaine covers a wide territory and relies on several IT centers. Teams must protect administrative, technical and operational data while addressing the priorities of public organizations: service continuity, cost control, security and digital sovereignty.
Business challenge
The consolidation of several environments revealed heterogeneous backup practices, including older LTO systems, hard drives, NAS-based copies and site-specific processes. The IT teams needed a common approach that would be easier to maintain, support offline copies and simplify physical offsite storage.

DREAL Nouvelle-AquitaineRDX solution deployed
Three RDX QuikStation 8 units were deployed with sets of 5TB RDX cartridges. Bareos integration and iSCSI access enable GFS-style backup cycles with regular media rotation and controlled offsite storage. Cartridges can be placed in fire-resistant storage or moved offsite according to the organization’s security policy.
